IT’S NO JOKE: TSA’s SECURE FLIGHT PROGRAM:

When ordering airline tickets: carefully and correctly specify your legal name that is verifiable by identification  (Passport, Drivers License).

Effective immediately, TSA airport security has begun cross-referencing airline passenger tickets by LEGAL NAME against “watch lists.”  You must specify your legal name when ordering airline tickets: NO nicknames!  Try it and you risk being denied boarding your intended flight.  The ticket name will be cross-referenced by government records and photo identification that you will be requested to provide.  If your name is Barbara Ann Ogden, do not order your tickets: “Bunny Ogden,” “B. A. Ogden,” or even “Barb A. Ogden!”  Be forewarned.  Middle initials are not a problem, YET!  Stay tuned.

Domestic airlines as of August 15, 2009, are also required to collect passenger’s date of birth and gender, as it appears on his/her identification.
